THE WBCS Course Covers:
1. Preliminary Examination (MCQ Type): English Composition, General Science, Current Events
(National & International), History of India, Indian National Movement, Geography of India & West Bengal,
Indian Polity & Economy, General Mental Ability etc.
2. Main Examination (Written & MCQ Type): It consists of six (6) Compulsory papers and one optional Subject consisting of two papers (only for candidates applying for Group A and/or B)
Subject Covered: Language Papers (Bengali and English), History, Geography, General Knowledge,
Current Affairs, Science and Scientific & Technological Advancement, Environment, Indian Economy, Indian Constitution,
Arithmetic, Test of Reasoning and Optional Subjects.
3. Personality Test (Interview): Leadership and decision making ability, Administrative Aptitude, Communication skill,
Social Awareness etc.
